Dennis Quaid's new-born twins are recovering after they were given an accidental overdose of a blood thinning drug in hospital.
The twins, who were born on November 8 via a surrogate mother, and another unidentified child were giving 10,000 units of Heparin on Sunday, instead of the normal 10 units for babies.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre apologised for the "preventable error", admitting the drug had been stored by a technician in the wrong place. They insisted the three children have now been administered with a drug that reverses the effect of Heparin, and that they were recovering without any ill effect.
A spokesperson for Quaid and his wife Kimberley Buffington said they "appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, and hope they can maintain their privacy during this difficult time."
