The late Heath Ledger was named best supporting actor at the Academy Awards.
The posthumous award, for his role as The Joker in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight, was picked up by his father Kim, mother Sally and sister Kate on his behalf.
"This is very humbling. I would like to thank the Academy for recognising my son's work," said an emotional Kim.
The Oscar will be given Ledger's young daughter Matilda.
The other nominees were Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Doubt), Robert Downey Jr (Tropic Thunder) and Josh Brolin (Milk).
