Cheech Marin gears up for Cars

He's best known for playing a laid back stoner but Cheech Marin has revealed to us that he's recently been working with Pixar on their next family-friendly animation.

We were chatting to the star, who was in the country to promote his new Cheech And Chong DVD boxset, when he let slip a few details about the much-anticipated flick. "I'm playing Ramon, the '58 Chevy," Marin told us, describing the project as "a very interesting story about a little stock car racer."

"He's on his way to the big event and he breaks down in this little town that time forgot and it's like this time capsule of old cars. I play the auto-body shop, paintjob and interior type guy. He's a '58 Chevy and every time you him he's got a new look, a new paintjob, new interior; he's kinda like the tailor of the town." Owen Wilson, Robert Redford and Bonnie Hunt will also feature in the movie, which is due to be with us late next year.
