DiCaprio and Connelly sparkle at Blood Diamond premiere

Hundreds of fans braved the freezing cold weather to see Leonardo DiCaprio at the UK premiere of Blood Diamond.

The star, who learned that he has received an Oscar nomination for the role, attended the London screening with co-star Jennifer Connelly who was accompanied by her British husband Da Vinci Code star Paul Bettany.

Leo talked to the crowd and the press for almost an hour. He said, "It’s pretty amazing for them to stand out there for 10 minutes let alone hours but it’s a warm welcome.”

The Film, which bagged five Oscar nominations in total, also features Brit actor David Harewood as baddie Captain Poison. Harewood spoke on GMTV about his role and the accent he had to perfect.

He joked, "I thought I might do my standard Nigerian traffic warden accent, but I soon realised I would have to work harder. Leo's accent is great in the film."

The action film touches on diamonds which come to the west from conflict zones.
