British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is to star opposite Changeling Oscar nominee Angelina Jolie in the forthcoming spy film Salt.
Tom Cruise was originally set to star in the thriller which has since been redrafted for Jolie. American Gangster actor Ejiofor has joined the cast of the Columbia Pictures thriller in which Jolie plays the title character, a CIA officer attempting to clear her name after being accused of being a Russian spy.
The project's original director Philip Noyce is still attached.
Ejiofor will next be seen in Roland Emmerich's big-budget blockbuster 2012 due in November.
