The real life dark side of Hollywood seems to be flavour of the month in Tinseltown at the moment, as movies such as "The Black Dahlia" and "Hollywoodland" have proved. Both films centred on the premature deaths of '50s movie stars and now Rose McGowan is adding to the genre: she is in negotiations to play tragic B-movie star Susan Cabot in "Black Oasis".
Stephan Elliot ("Priscilla, Queen of the Desert") will direct the movie from a script based on an article in Premiere magazine which charts Cabot's rise on the B-movie circuit and her murder at the hands of her son Timothy, who killed her with a weightlifting bar when she was just 59. Shooting will begin in the autumn.
