Talk about being typecast. After playing a hedonistic rock star in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Russell Brand is due to play … a hedonistic rock star in a forthcoming film from the same director.

The surreal funnyman, who once had ambitions of being in a boyband, has wowed critics with his performance in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and famed comedy producer (Knocked Up and Superbad) was so impressed while they worked together on the film that he has signed Brand to work with him again on his new movie Get Him To The Greek.

The film will focus on the adventures of a fledgling insurance adjuster (Superbad’s Jonah Hill) who is hired to take a rock star (you guessed it- Brand) to a gig at LA’s Greek Theatre.

It will be directed by Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Nick Stoller.

It is a busy time for Brand he has also already signed on to star in You Don’t Mess With The Zohan and Bedtime Stories alongside Adam Sandler.
