Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Borat aka Ali G, has been asked to join the Academy which decides who wins Oscars.
The comedian has been invited to join the 6,000-strong members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences along with fellow Brit Ray Winstone.
Also among 105 actors, filmmakers, executives invited are French actress Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar this year for her role as Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, Ruby Dee, American Gangster actress Jet Li Dee, Josh Brolin and Allison Janney.
Jason Reitman, best-director nominee for last year's Juno, has also received an invitation along with directors Doug Liman, Kimberly Peirce and Gore Verbinski.
