Heath Ledger's final movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is reportedly having distribution problems.
The Terry Gilliam-directed was independently financed and now features the talents of Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp, who all stepped into to play Ledger's character in different stages following the Dark Knight actor's death midway through the production. Despite the involvement of such stars, North American distributors don't appear to be clamouring for the rights, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Some feel that the increasingly experimental nature of Gilliam's films could be the reason why companies seem to have cold feet over the film, about a time-travelling magician, even after Ledger's posthumous Oscar win.
One person who feels the movie should reach a large audience is The Joker actor's sister Kate Ledger, who said backstage at the Oscars: "We've seen a little bit of the footage. I think it's going to be amazing."
