Matt Damon might be one of Hollywood's highest paid stars now, but he still recalls the thrill of spending his first pay check.
The Bourne Ultimatum star - who'll be seen in cinemas this summer in the third instalment of his spy thriller trilogy - got his big break and wage packet with the script for Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with good friend Ben Affleck.
Damon confessed both he and Affleck knew exactly what they were spending the cash on, although he tried to change his friend's mind.
"We both bought Jeep Grand Cherokees", he revealed. "It was funny, because Ben and I, we both always wanted a Jeep Grand Cherokee for some reason. That was the car. We always talked about it but never could afford one.
"So when we suddenly had the money, we each instantly started trying to convince each other to get a different car. We’d say, ‘Hey, have you seen the Explorer? The Ford Explorer is really cool.’ Because we knew it would just be so gay to get the same car."
