Sting had to step in to save his wife Trudie Styler's film project when it ran over budget.
The producer had signed up actors including Robert Downey Jr to star in A Guide To Recognising Your Saints, but when the money ran out and it looked like the plug would be pulled. Sting reportedly gave 1.8 million dollars to save the film.
It would seem that he isn't throwing his cash away as the movie has already won awards at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Styler is quoted by Contact Music as saying, "We had lost the money but then my husband stepped up, like the gentleman he is, and wrote a cheque."
