Katie won't do Batman again

Katie Holmes won't be reprising her role as legal eagle Rachel Dawes in the forthcoming sequel to Christopher Nolan's Batman Returns.

According to reports Mrs Cruise's role has already been recast for The Dark Knight which begins shooting later this year. Apparently producers wanted to save money by recasting because the character's role in the new movie is only about ten minutes long.

The Dark Knight will again star Christian Bale as The Caped Crusader alongside Michael Caine's Alfred while Josh Lucas, Jamie Foxx and Edward Norton are vying for the role of Harvey Dent AKA Two Face. Reports also suggest The Penguin will not feature in the movie but Batman's old arch rival The Joker is still likely to surface.
