Bleak tale "Children Of Men" was the most popular movie in the UK over weekend (Sept 22nd - 24th) and the futuristic thriller, which stars Clive Owen and Michael Caine, earned almost £1.3 million in the process.
Stephen Frears' regal drama "The Queen" did well to remain in second place, with a very impressive drop week-on-week of just 6%. Last week's No. 1, Will Ferrell comedy "Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby", fell to third while the Wayans' brothers comedy "Little Man" and Owen Wilson's "You, Me And Dupree" rounded out the Top 5.
None of the week's other new releases did very well at all with the David Duchovny and Julianne Moore romantic drama "Trust The Man" coming in at eight, "Dirty Sanchez: The Movie" at nine, and Kevin Smith's slacker sequel "Clerk II" debuting in tenth place.
