Bill Nighy turned his back on a career in journalism, despite harbouring dreams of a "glamorous" career as a hack.
The Love Actually star was working as a hopeful messenger boy at a small UK magazine when a girlfriend persuaded him to study drama.
The veteran thespian, last seen on TV screens in Gideon's Daughter told Contact Music: "I wanted to be a journalist, I thought it was glamorous and that I'd meet beautiful women in the rain."
Glamorous? Beautiful women in the rain? We're not sure about that Bill - you're better off sticking with Richard Curtis films for that sort of thing.
