Razzie winner Mike Myers is getting support from the most unlikely of people - the same Hindu scholar who protested against The Love Guru.

The flop comedy, which picked up three Razzies recently including a worst actor nod for Myers, landed in hot water with religious leaders, who claimed the film lampooned Hinduism.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed said, "If Myers visited a Hindu temple, paid his obeisance, expressed remorse, and promised not to denigrate Hinduism in his future movies, Hindus would not only absolve him but might also pray for his success in his future ventures."

Zed, who led the protests against the film, added, "It (The Love Guru) was one of the big disasters of the year. He managed to offend the entire Indian population.

"Although Myers’ temple visit would not undo the damage done to the community, it might help heal the wounds."
