Spike Lee's new thriller Inside Man has topped the US box office in its first weekend.
The Clive Owen and Denzel Washington starring bank heist movie enjoyed a very strong $29 million opening, more than double the No.2 movie V For Vendetta ($12.3).
New low budget teen horror Stay Alive also faired surprisingly well taking $11.2 million to open at No.3, while comedy Larry The Cable Guy debuted with a modest $7.1 million at No.4 just ahead of Tim Allen's enduring Shaggy Dog at 5.
