It was never in any doubt really but just for formality's sake…"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" debuted on Thursday and went on to (almost) break Box Office records asunder over the four day Memorial Weekend in the States. Needless to say Indy went straight in at number 1 with an estimated $126 million in Box Office takings. That figure puts it in close second just behind last year's "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" as the highest grossing film ever over the Memorial Holiday ("Pirates 3" recouped $132 million over the same period). So "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" only enjoyed the Box Office throne for one week having been properly put in its place by Indy and falling to number 2. "Prince Caspian" managed a further $28 million to stay just ahead of "Iron Man". Marvel's all–conquering property bolstered its position at 3 with another hefty $25 million after four weeks on general release. Meanwhile rom–com "What Happens in Vegas" falls one place to number 4 along with the damp squib that is "Speed Racer" at 5. The Tine Fey maternity comedy "Baby Mama" held out once again at number 6 with the Patrick Dempsey–starring "Made of Honour" jostling for space at 7. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is forgetting its Box Office pedigree falling one place to 8 with the perennial stoners "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" slipping to 9. And digging in at 10 for another week is drama "The Visitor".
