Gerard is Guy's latest gangster

Gerard Butler has signed up to star in Guy Ritchie's next movie.

The 300 actor will lead an ensemble cast including Thandie Newton, Tom Wilinson and rapper Ludacris in RocknRolla. It's yet another crime caper from Madonna's man who has cast Butler as a buffed up, streetwise East End gangster (what else?) who is losing ground to foreign mobs.

Shooting expected to start later this year.
