Liam Neeson has obtained UK citizenship after being overwhelmed with the support in the US following his wife's death.
The Irish actor's wife, Natasha Richardson, died after a skiing accident in Canada earlier this year, and Neeson revealed that he was stunned by the letters of condolences from wellwishers in America.
Talking to chat show Good Morning America, "That is partly the reason why I've become an American citizen.
"I'm still a proud Irishman, of course, but I've become an American citizen - I'm very proud of that."
