John Travolta has turned down the chance to reprise his role as Mrs Tumblad in the Hairspray sequel.
The Pulp Fiction star donned a fatsuit to play the overbearing mother of the Tumblad family in the 2007 musical hit. But despite winning raves for his cross dressing performance, he is reluctant to appear in the sequel.
He said, "I think once is enough. I did it and I did it well but I'm not a big sequel guy."
While Travolta has turned down the chance to appear in several sequels to his films before, including Grease and General's Daughter, he has appeared in follow-ups to Look Who's Talking, Get Shorty and Saturday Night Fever.
John Waters has written a treatment for Hairspray 2, and will once again focus on the Tumblad family. So expect another male actor to don the fatsuit for Edna.
