A man was jailed in Scotland for singing the song Spider Pig from The Simpsons movie.
David Mullen from Blairgowrie sung the words "Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does. Can he swing from a web? No he can’t. He’s a pig", crooned by Homer Simpson in the hit film, while in the back of a police van after being involved in a fight. He is also said to have referred to an officer as "ginger".
Mullen claimed that the song was his ringtone during the incident which happened months before he breached his curfew which, along with other offences, led to a three month jail sentence.
His solicitor said about the escalation of events: “He started the song and that was the origin of the joke, but things went further. He felt he had not done anything to be apprehended for.”
