British pair Daniel Day-Lewis and Julie Christie are celebrating after they were named best actor and best actress at the Screen Actors Guild awards.
Christie won for her role as a dementia sufferer in the drama Away From Her, while Lewis was honoured for his performance in There Will Be Blood. The British actor dedicated his award to Heath Ledger, who died last week.
Speaking about Ledger's performance in Brokeback Mountain, Lewis said, "That scene in the trailer at the end of the film is as moving as anything I think I've ever seen."
Coen Brothers movie No Country For Old Men was named best film at the ceremony, which was the first awards show this year not to be affected by the strike.
A host of Hollywood stars including Tom Cruise and John Travolta attended the ceremony after the writers union agreed not to picket as a show of thanks for the support of the Screen Actors Guild during their strike.
Other winners included Javier Bardem for his role in No Country For Old Men, while American Gangster's Ruby Dee won best supporting actress.
