Reese and Jake are dating

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are Hollywood's newest couple, sources have confirmed.

Rumours have been flying for weeks that the newly-single actors are dating, and perezhilton.com says sources have confirmed they're now an item.

Reese and Jake met on the film set of Rendition last year, and have since been spotted spending time together in New York on March 1 and 2.

"They are 100% dating," a close insider told perezhilton. "Reese and Jake are being smart about things and keeping their relationship very discrete and out of the public eye."

Reese filed for divorce from actor-husband Ryan Phillipe late last year: the couple have two daughters together. Jake's last serious relationship was with the actress Kirsten Dunst, whom he dated for three years before they split in 2005.
