The Coen brothers next film, Burn After Reading, will open the Venice Film Festival, Variety has announced.
The dark spy comedy is something of a thespfest, starring George Clooney (pic), Brad Pitt, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand, as well as British Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton.
It revolves around a memoir written by ex-Cia man Malkovich, which falls into the hands of two gym workers. They, in turn, decide to exploit the chance finding.
No Country For Old Men, the Coens' previous film, was also launched at a prestigious European festival - premiering at Cannes - going to Oscar success earlier this year.
The film will debut at Venice on Aug 27. It will then arrive in cinemas in the UK on Sept 5, a week earlier than the USA will get to see it.
