Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft is get rebooted for the big screen.

Angelina Jolie played Croft in two films - 2001's Tomb Raider and The Cradle of Life in 2003 - but they were both critically savaged. Producer Dan Lin is keen to give the blockbuster gaming franchise a cinematic overhaul and will tell a whole new origin tale of the female adventurer.

He said, "We're rebooting Lara Croft. We're really excited. It's a great origin story we're going to tell, a very character orientated story and more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies.

"It is an origin story so it will be a younger Lara Croft."

Megan Fox is being heavily tipped to don Croft's famed shorts.

Lin is becoming the king of reboots - he's the producer of the Terminator movie as well as the upcoming Sherlock Holmes film.
