Scarlett to play "Mary Queen of Scots"

Scarlett Johansson must like British period dress - not only is she playing Mary Boleyn in "The Other Boleyn Girl" but she has now signed up to take the lead in Elizabethan drama "Mary Queen of Scots".

The movie, which has been written by UK TV veteran Jimmy McGovern ("Cracker", "The Lakes"), will chart the hostile relationship between Queen Mary (Johansson) and an as-yet-uncast Queen Elizabeth. Filming is likely to take place late next summer.
