Shrek the Third DVD release announced

Shrek the Third makes its appearance on DVD in time for Christmas - no doubt to the relief of millions of parents worldwide - with the release date of Nov 26.

The loveable ogre smashed attendance records with his third outing, securing the best ever opening weekend figures for an animated film. The latest instalment features all the familiar characters, as well as some new ones in the shape of the wonky wizard Merlin and a rather fumbling, less-than-heroic King Arthur.

Not surprisingly it's bundled up with some astounding extras to keep the kids quiet, while Mum and Dad work their way through the liquid presents. There are "donkey dance" instructions, DVD-ROM features and Shrek's Guide To Parenthood, as well as advice on How To Be Green.
