Classic horror title "The Thing", which was helmed by the legendary John Carpenter, is set for a makeover, courtesy of Universal.
The major has set the cogs turning by assigning Ron Moore, exec producer of "Battlestar Galactica", to pen the script, and commercials director Matthiks Van Heijningen ("Army Of The Dead") to direct.
The film, which will be based on Howard Hawks' 1951 original and the short story "Who Goes There" on which Carpenter's classic was based, sees a morphing alien overpower the inhabitants of a Norwegian camp.
