The American Postal Service is softening the blow of price rise by enlisting the support of the world's most loyal film fans.
A series of Star Wars stamps will go on sale in May, featuring characters from the world-beating franchise, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and R2-D2.
The initial set of 15 will be issued as a poster, with the public being asked to vote for their favourite. The winning stamp will then be issued later in the year on its own sheet.
The official launch was held in the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood where the first film opened, and the stamps will go on sale on May 25 - the 30th anniversary of Star Wars' first public screening.
