The Oscar winning actor, who is more famous for his feisty temper, showed his kind hearted nature with the generous tip.
He handed staff at the Carew Inn in Tenby £600 after treating his co-stars from the new Robin Hood film a slap up meal and a boozing session.
An onlooker said it was "surreal" seeing the Gladiator star at the Welsh pub.
Crowe's not the only actor who has left a generous tip recently. Johnny Depp was said to have left behind a staggering $4,000 tip at a US restaurant.
It almost makes Crowe look like a skinflint!
