Oscar bosses have denied they are in talks with Ricky Gervais to host next year's Academy Awards.
It was recently claimed that the Office star was being courted by Oscar bosses after they were impressed with his performance at the Emmys recently.
The actor, who will be seen next in supernatural comedy Ghost Town, had the crowd in stitches when he presented an award. A source told EW.com, "The buzz around town is that Ricky should hosts the Oscars."
However, co-producer Larry Mark denies they have been in talks with Gervais, insisting that they haven't actually decided who they want to host next year's annual ceremony.
He told E! Online: "We haven't made one single phone call. There has been no reaching out."
Academy president Sid Ganis added, "We haven't gotten that far yet. We're just not there yet."
Previous celebs who have hosted the Oscars include Steve Martin, David Letterman, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Jon Stewart.
