French crime film Un Prophete won the best film at the London Film Festival Awards.
The drama, which also won the Grand Prix prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival, was handed the Star Of London for Best Film honour by Anjelica Huston.
She praised the film, calling it a "masterpiece" and an "instant classic". The screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's harrowing novel was given a special mention by the jury for its "breathtaking vision and profound political statement".
Jack Thorne won Best British Newcomer for his writing work on The Scouting Book For Boys.
Other winners on the night included Ajami, which won the Sutherland Award, John Hurt and Souleymane Cisse - who both won the BFI Fellowships awards.
