Serial killer Disturbs US box office

Serial Killer movie Disturbia has managed a US box office hat trick.

The thriller held off new drama The Invisible to top the North American box office chart for the third week running, taking $9.1m (£4.5m)

Disturbia stars 20-year-old newcomer Shia LaBeouf as a house-bound teenager who spies on his neighbours - but then uncovers a suburban killer.

The Invisible opened in second place with an estimated $7.6m (£3.8m), while Nicolas Cage's latest film Next made its debut in third place, taking $7.2m (£3.6m) over the weekend.

The other major change in the chart was British police comedy Hot Fuzz, which stars Simon Pegg, coming in seventh with earnings of $4.8 million (£2.4 million).
