Cam and Jess avoid red carpet face-off

MTV Movie Awards chiefs are working hard to avoid a face-off between Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel.

The actresses are both due to attend the swanky bash on June 3, but now that Jessica is dating Cameron's ex Justin Timberlake, it's fair to say there's no love lost between them.

Cameron (pic) and Jessica will both be presenting awards, while Cameron's been nominated for Best Kiss for her snog with Jude Law in The Holiday and Justin's been nominated for Best Breakthrough Performance for his role in Alpha Dog.

"Everyone is determined to keep Cam and Jess far apart," a source told New York Post. "It's becoming a big deal because the girls both want very separate [red carpet] arrival times."

Customarily the biggest stars usually walk down the red carpet last - and Cameron, 34, who is used to being at the top of the A-list, wants to avoid the "humiliation" of having an earlier arrival time than Jessica, 25.

"Cam is used to being more high-profile than Jessica," the source explained. "But now that Jessica's dating Justin, she has more leverage. Cameron's looking a little unstable lately."

"Nobody knows who Cameron is going to bring, if anyone. But if Jessica walks with Justin, Cameron will want to bring a date. If Jessica goes alone, Cam will probably walk alone. It's a mess."
