Despite a recent apology for comments made about the earthquake in China, Sharon Stone has been dropped by cosmetics firm Christian Dior from its Chinese adverts.

Stone apologised for her remarks, saying, "Due to my inappropriate words and acts during the interview, I feel deeply sorry and sad about hurting Chinese people. I am willing to take part in the relief work of China's earthquake, and wholly devote myself to helping affected Chinese people."

However, Dior's China branch decided to distance itself from Stone's previous remarks when she implied the devastating earthquake as being a possible Karmic reaction to the country's treatment of Tibet. It released the following statement: "We don't agree with her hasty, unreflecting remarks and we deeply regret them. We absolutely do not support any remark that hurts the Chinese people's feelings."
