Following the news that Patrick Swayze is responding well to treatment for pancreatic cancer, it's been reported that producers behind the new upcoming Point Break 2 are desperate for the actor to reprise his role in the original.
An insider told Life + Style magazine, "The producers are trying to figure out a way - any way - to get Patrick in the movie. One day, two days, a week of shooting - whatever they can get Patrick for, they'll make it work. He was so pivotal to the first movie."
And if they can't get the actor to return for the sequel he will still feature via flashbacks.
The insider added, "There will be flashbacks and references to the old plot lines and characters. So, regardless, Patrick will be featured in the movie. It wouldn't be the same without him."
The 55-year-old actor has been undergoing treatment at Stanford University Medical Centre in California. He was diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas in March.
