As we await the release of "This Mist" here in the UK, work has begun on another Stephen King adaptation. "Dolan's Cadillac", based on King's short story, has commenced production in Regina and Moose Jaw, Canada. Stepping behind the wheel of the killer caddy is Christian Slater ("Broken Arrow") with Wes Bentley ("P2") and Emmanuelle Vaugier ("Saw IV") playing a couple terrorised by Slater's mob boss.
Jeff Beesley makes the step up from TV to big screen with his first feature length project with Richard Dooling adapting King's work for the screen. Incidentally, Dooling previously adapted King's "Kingdom Hospital" for the well-received mini series. "The audience is in for a treat," says executive producer Kevin DeWalt. "We've assembled an incredibly talented cast and a highly skilled crew and are ready to deliver a quality film that will exceed audience expectations." Meanwhile Ellen Wander, executive producer, added, "The transition from page to screen will not disappoint. This story is one of vengeance, Stephen King style."
"Dolan's Cadillac" sees a well-meaning small town couple tormented by Las Vegas' most ruthless crime lord, Jimmy Dolan and his iconic death ride. Dolan's wrath is triggered after the couple witness an apparent mob execution, which triggers a series of nightmarish events that pushes the couple to the very brink of insanity.
