Harry Potter star Emma Watson has split up from her first boyfriend, rugby player Tom Ducker.

The actress, who plays schoolgirl Hermione Granger in the magical film franchise, is reportedly "distraught" at the break-up.

A friend of Watson's told The Sun: "She is very upset. He was her first love."

Despite rumours that Watson has viewed pictures of her Wasps youth player lover with groups of young women, a representative for the actress claims that their relationship had ended on good terms.

The rep commented: "They just drifted apart as teenagers do. Emma is now just concentrating on her A-levels and the new film."

Meanwhile, Watson is currently filming the sixth Potter installment, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, but fans eager for a glimpse of her in the meantime will be pleased to hear a TV programme starring Watson, titled Ballet Shoes, will be screened on BBC 1 this Christmas Eve.
