Katherine Heigl isn't about to abandon her starring role in hospital drama Grey's Anatomy, despite now earning a reputed $6m a film and being touted as the new Julia Roberts.

The star of hit rom-com 27 Dresses doesn't always have kind things to say about her projects (she described Knocked Up's female characters as "shrews, as humourless and uptight" and the film as "a little sexist"), told The Sunday Times, “When I come back to Grey’s, I am actually really excited. After nine months a year for four years, of course you’re going to think, ‘I want to be someone else for a while.’ I landed really good things and I did them in my breaks. It broke up the monotony of the character and I’m very, very grateful for opportunities. But Grey’s is such a good cast. Everybody is amazing."

Heigl hasn't always seen eye--to-eye with all cast members. She famously publicly criticised Isaiah Washington after he made homophobic remarks about fellow star T R Knight.

“Oh, am I supposed to be a bitch now because I say what I think?" she says now. "People have been respectful about it and I don’t know if it’s all that brave or honourable to just be honest. Although at that moment at the (Golden) Globes (Awards) I thought I was going to get into trouble for it."
