Following 2005 sibling romcom In Her Shoes, Diaz has signed up to My Sister's Keeper, a drama based on the novel by Jodi Picoult.
Diaz plays Sara Fitzgerald, a former lawyer who finds herself back in court, representing herself and her husband, when their thirteen-year-old daughter Anna sues them. Anna was conceived to be a genetic match for her older sister Kate, who has leukaemia.
My Sister's Keeper will be directed by Nick Cassavetes, and more cast members will be announced in the coming weeks.
