Lost In Translation star Bill Murray says late comedian John Belushi (Blues Brothers) paved the way into Hollywood for Murray and other contemporaries who might not have seemed obvious commercial choices.
Murray starred with the likes of Belushi and Dan Akroyd on US TV show Saturday Night Live before Belushi died from a drugs overdose in 1982.
Murray says, "I was able to follow people who were very powerful forces. You can't overestimate what an impact John Belushi had. He was the icebreaker who went out and broke into the commercial world with a fearlessness and artistic integrity that we could all copy. It made me confident that I didn't have to pimp myself out or grovel for work."
