Film buffs can expect plenty of DVD-shaped pressies in their stockings this Christmas with all of the summer's top blockbusters being released in time for the festive period.
DreamWorks have announced that Steven Spielberg's War Of The Worlds will arrive as a two-disc DVD on November 22. Bonus features include a documentary on author H.G. Wells, a chat with Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise about the making of the film; an interview with two of the stars from the 1953 movie (Gene Berry and Ann Robinson) along with various production diaries and behind-the-scenes footage.
Elsewhere, Tim Burton's Charlie And The Chocolate Factory will be in stores, as a two-disc deluxe set, on November 8, followed by 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four on December 6. This year's big International box office hit, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, which has taken nearly $1000 million in worldwide receipts, gets a head start on the lot with a October 31 DVD release date. George Lucas has promised numerous additional deleted scenes and making ofs.
