Oprah Winfrey's appearance on David Letterman's show last Thursday gave the him his best ratings in ten years.

Oprah agreed to go on the chat show after years of the begging by the host as she was promoting the Broadway premiere of her musical The Color Purple.

Oprah was reportedly annoyed at Letterman after his stint as Oscars host during which he kept saying "Oprah, Uma, Uma, Oprah" in his, er, idiosyncratic comedic style, referring to to the talk show queen and actress Uma Thurman who were sitting in the front row.

However, Oprah said she never had a feud with Letterman and gave him a photo of herself standing next to the Kill Bill actress as a gift. Her appearance more than tripled Letterman's typical audience of 4.3 million viewers.
