Avril joins Fast Food Nation

US singer Avril Lavigne is set to make her movie debut in Fast Food Nation.

Lavigne will appear in the adaptation of Eric Schlosser's best selling book of the same name. Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke, Greg Kinnear and Kris Kristofferson are also said to be up for parts in the film which will be released in 2006.

Given that the book exposed certain lesser-known ingredients in fast food, it might not do much for cinemas attempting to shift their hot dogs.
