Katie Holmes will go by the name Kate Cruise after she walks down the aisle with full-time Scientology propagandist and part-time movie star Tom Cruise.
Unlike Cruise's previous two wives, Nicole Kidman and Mimi Rogers, the old-fashioned Batman Begins star will take Cruise's surname according to reports.
A source told In Touch magazine that taking her husband's name was something the former Dawson's Creek actress had always been keen on, while switching her name from the girly Katie to the more grown up Kate seems to have been the War Of The Worlds star's idea.
"Tom calls her Kate, so he suggested she start going by that professionally," the insider commented.
