The highlight of Adam Sandler's career to date has to be The Wedding Singer, in which he starred alongside Drew Barrymore. Encouragingly, this effort reunites the pair.
Sandler plays Henry Roth, a commitment-shy ladies man who steals the heart of anyone he chooses to hit on while they holiday in Hawaii. But when he meets local girl Lucy (Barrymore) Henry's charms seem to fail him, especially when she ignores him the second time they meet. Lucy. it transpires, has a medical disorder which wipes out her short-term memory every night. Which places Henry in a predicament.
Similar in many ways to Groundhog Day, this is a charming enough outing, though it suffers from Sandler trying to please all his fans all the time. His best mate Rob Schneider gets his usual supporting role but his presence is tempered by Sean Astin's amusing stint as Lucy's meathead brother, while the character of 10 Second Tom is extremely funny, albeit in poor taste.
Extras on the release include an audio commentary from Drew Barrymore and director Peter Segal, a blooper reel, five deleted scenes (with optional commentary), two featurettes, filmographies, three music videos, a sneak peak at Adam Sandler's upcoming comedy album and the theatrical trailer.
