Who'd have thought that when the first American Pie reached our screens, back in 1998, that the hapless hero and the girl who used him on prom night would end up strolling down the aisle together?

Having dated for a few years, the time seems right for Jim (Jason Biggs) to pop the question to Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and when she says 'yes', the scene is set for a joyous union between two families. But with Stifler (Seann William Scott) and Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) both trying to cop off with Michelle's sister Cadence (January Jones), a badly-timed bachelor party and a disapproving Granny, things are going to get complicated.

Probably the most important thing with American Wedding is not to expect too much different from the previous films where the formula worked so well. The usual quota of gross-out gags, humiliating scenarios and touching moments are all here, and it's these staples that have made the franchise so successful.

Pie fans will know exactly what to expect of American Wedding (strippers, poo gags, a gay dance-off and a large man in butt-less chaps) and that's perhaps where its charm lies.

Extras on this DVD include two audio commentaries by the director and the cast, deleted scenes, an 'Enter The Dominatrix: Inside The Bachelor Party' featurette, a glossary of 'Stifler Speak', a 'Grooming The Groom' featurette and 'Cheesy Wedding Video' footage.
