Finally Kate gets a win for Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her performance in 'The Reader'. Kate has previously been nominated five times, most notibly for her role in Titanic.

This is the second Academy Award nomination for 33-year-old Anjelina Jolie, for her performance in 'Changeling' directed by Clint Eastwood. Previously Jolie won the Academy Award for her performance in 'Girl, Interrupted'.
ANGELINA JLOIE -
This is the first Academy Award for 48-year-old Melissa Leo, who is nominated for her performance in 'Frozen River'. Most famous for her TV roles, Melissa has also appeared in the film '21 Grams'.
MELISSA LEO -
This is the fifteenth Academy Award nomination for 59-year-old Meryl Streep for her performance in 'Doubt'. Previously Meryl has won twice in this category in 1979 and 1982.
MERYL STREEP -
This is the first Academy Award nomination for 26-year-old Anne Hathaway for her role in 'Rachel Getting Married'. Anne was also nominated for her performance at this year's SAGs and Golden Globes.
