Actor’s unusual self-promotion method
BAFTA nominee desperate to win Rising Star award
British actor Adam Deacon has been caught shamelessly plugging himself on the red carpet at 'The Woman In Black' premiere this week.

Arriving at the premiere of Daniel Radcliffe’s new film ‘The Woman In Black’ the young actor adopted the unusual approach of handing out flyers asking fans to vote for him in an upcoming award.
The actor, best known for his role in ‘Kidulthood’ and ‘Adulthood’, is shortlisted for the Rising Star Award at this year’s BAFTAs and took this opportunity to garner support.

The slogan on the flyer reads “We’ve made the shortlist, now let’s take this BAFTA home – vote Adam Deacon.
“It’s the final stage, BAFTA Rising Star, we need your votes now!”
The flyer begs readers to vote before 3rd February in order to crown him victorious.
Speaking after his nomination, Deacon spoke of the honour of just being recognised. He said: “For someone like me, coming from a Hackney council estate, even to get this far, I don't care whether I win or lose, I'm happy”.
In reality, it seems like he cares a little too much.
We can understand why he feels the need for this self-promotion as he's been pitted against Eddie Redmayne (‘My Week With Marilyn’), Chris O’Dowd (‘Bridesmaid's/’The IT Crowd’), Tom Hiddleston (‘War Horse’, ‘Thor’) and Chris Hemsworth (‘Thor’) for the coveted award.
Past recipients have gone on to great success, including ‘Twilight’s Kristen Stewart, new Batman villain Tom Hardy and 'X-Men' star James McAvoy.
