Adam Sandler gets record 11 Razzie nominations

    And each is thoroughly deserved

One was bad enough... 'Sandler & Sandler' in 'Jack and Jill'

The Golden Raspberry nominations have been announced, and whereas the Oscars have just lauded the best of Hollywood, the 'Razzies' look to reward the very worst.

Usually the awards themselves take place on the eve of the Academy Awards, but this year it was the nominations that were revealed over the weekend with the ceremony taking place on April Fool's Day.

Adam Sandler's so-called comedies 'Jack and Jill' and 'Just Go With It' led the way with a record 11 nods, more than doubling the previous best of five, held by Eddie Murphy for the dire 'Norbit'. That film was so bad that it has long been speculated that it cost Murphy the Oscar for his performance in 'Dreamgirls'.

The latest installments of blockbusters 'Twilight' and 'Transformers' are in the running for Worst Picture, and British comedian Russell Brand is up for Worst Actor for his remake of 'Arthur'.

Cross-dressers Sandler and Martin Lawrence find themselves up against Sarah Palin, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristen Stewart in the Worst Actress category, whilst Oscar winners Al Pacino and Nicole Kidman find themselves nominated for Worst Supporting roles in the two Sandler films from last year.

    Guilty by association we think.
